2710vn UK ADSL sync speed low was created by skullster
Hi Finally purchased a Draytek after all the years dealing with inferior products - Generally very happy with the router. The only issue is my last router ( A Billion N class) had a consistent and stable download syc to the exchange at 3526 ( probably the best I could get on our line) My 2710 can only manage 1340 and then sometimes drops to 1210.
As this is less than half the speed I had before its a cause for concern. I understand about adaptive rates and the BT BRAS profiles take 3 days to catch up once the rate is lowered then brought back up.
Any ideas why its so much slower than the last router?

Hi
Same router.
With BT, it took my router 6 days before my profile went up from 442800 to 6528000.

Check the modem code, with that sort of line, you would want to use the 211801 modem code from here:

Thanks Voodle I'll try that as its on 3.3.2_232201 at the moment.
With all these firmware versions how does one tell what's beast for each situation?
I'll re-flash and report back here.

For the UK there's effectively 2 good modem codes, 232201 is the general one which works well for most lines, especially ADSL2+. Then there's 211801 which is the older one and handles longer lines better but achieves slightly lower speeds.
The other modem codes aren't so good for the UK, especially not the Annex B ones

OK now on 3.3.2_211801 I'm afraid down load connection speed now is 1280 although this seems stable even after hard restarting the router.
Any more thoughts folks?
