Hi,

I have just setup a new 2820n and all is working well.
I reasonably familiar with draytek products (have setup IPSec LAN2LAN connections and custom firewall rules etc.) but I can't see a simple way of monitoring the total traffic usage (in GB for instance) through the router - so that I can check whether I'm staying within my ISP limits for each month.

I have SYSLOG (v4.2.0) installed but I can't see anywhere in there that gives the figures I need.

Any pointers or software suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

Have you tried the Draytek SmartMonitor, I'm not sure if there is a specific function which records upload and download usage, but it does have some useful tools for displaying usage on your network and could be quite helpful.

If you check out the Draytek website the software is free to download and there are some instructions there too.

Other options.

PRTG will give graphs, I think with total bandwidth.
The free version is limited to 10 sensors but that suits many.
Takes a little setting up and in many ways looks too complicated but once initially set up should be good.

Wallwatcher is supposed to do bandwidth too but I've never tried it for that.

Thanks for the reponses.

I've installed the free version of PRTG network monitor - this looks to be giving me the info I need.
