Scheduled Firewall Control - HELP! was created by jarvthelegend
Hi All,

I've recently been using another router brand which looked promising ... but it is totally dire, and so I'm going to return to Draytek! \o/

I have one big requirement ...

I want to be able to stop and start firewall rules according to schedule. AND kill any disallowed traffic when stopping!

I have an offsite backup with SpiderOak.com. I wish to leave the client running 24x7 on my laptops/desktops/servers .. BUT when it reaches midnight, to allow the backups to commence. THEN when it reaches 08:00 it will actively stop any active communications and block the sockets. (My current router brand does the former, but not the latter, so any existing traffic continues unhindered ... therefore I have to resort to QoS, to bring the speed down to minimal, which is not ideal!).

My reason for this is that my broadband has a quota during office hours, but is free usage of an evening.

Does the 2920 range have the ability to do this please?

Thanks in advance.
