Hi,

Currently we have a SBS2k3 server with dual nics. One for internal and one for external networks.
The current router DG834g sits on the external network but we would like to replace this with a 2820N so that when our ADSL circuit goes down we can use the USB 3G dongle to still utilise the internet and emails.

Is there anything unusual that I have to do to set this up on the router and server or is it straight forward and the router will automatically switch us over should the adsl circuit fail.

Is there a tutorial on setting this up should it need it?

thank you

DAve

Regards,

Dave.

Hi
That should be easy enough, just setup the 3G part in the router and you can set it to use 3G all the time or just when the ADSL line fails.
As a matter of interest, instead of having 2 NIC's on the server why don't you just use 1 and utilise the excellent firewall in the Draytek router?
It makes for a simpler network topology and takes some load off the server.
