2820 with a 3300v was created by swizzuk
Hi All,
Currently have around 6 2820's deployed over two sites. Looking to move to use 3300v to create better failover and vpn links.
The 3300v is specified to work with the 120s, however, rather than purchase a load of 120s, would the 2820s work with the 3300v.
Although majority of the settings in the 2820s will be handled by the 3300v, would they still work as (just expensive) broadband modems for the 3300v?
cheers

You can do that by putting the routers into Bridge mode (with an MPoA connection) or PPPoE pass-through mode (for a PPPoA connection. There's a tickbox for those on the relevant PPPoA/MPoA settings pages, once you tick that and apply it then it'll act as a rather expensive modem

Perfect! Thanks!
An expensive modem yes, but business owner won't let me spend additional money to replace the 2820s with the 120s, so expensive modem it is!

Just trying to figure this out.
Have checked the tick box on the PPPoE/PPPoA section on the 2820s.
Do I then add the login details for the ADSL account onto the 2820?
The adsl account uses PPPoA, Chap, VC-Mux and I have a static IP.
What do i then set the 3300v Wan config as?
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

On the 2820s, assuming that the firmware is 3.3.3, once you tick PPPoE pass-through, it'll grey out the username/password settings, so it won't try to dial anymore.
On the 3300V, you would set up the WAN connection as PPPoE, enter the username and password details as well as the static IP address on there, there's also a field for Service Name, which needs to be left blank for it to work.
