Vigor 2710 USB Drive Samba auth probem was created by jeromewilson
I'm trying to get the new 'NAS' feature working on the 2710.

I've updated to the latest firmware for the 2710, formatted the USB drive as FAT32 and it's showing up fine in admin. I've created a user account with full access to \.

I can browse to \\192.168.0.1\ in Windows Explorer with no problem but when I try to access the user folder I can't seem to get the username and password to work. I've tried creating a registry entry for LSA/LMCompatibilityLevel (DWORD) and set it to 1 but this hasn't helped (Windows 7).

Any ideas gratefully received :)

Hi, i've been having fun with this feature over the past few days and did get the same problem at one stage (i'm also running win7). Try setting the LMCompatibilityLevel value to 2 rather than 1, worked for me.

More info on the different values here: http://www.techexams.net/forums/mcts-mcitp-windows-2008-general/46088-windows-7-client-cannot-access-remote-file-share.html

Cheers,

Ian

Thanks Ian, I'll give that a try when I get into work on Monday. I don't suppose you've managed to get the 2710 to show up in the network neighbourhood, have you?

Cheers,

Jerome
