Can not open any ports on 2820vn was created by dobrzan
Hi all,
Got a big problem with opening ports on my 2820vn. I was looking on this forum for long time, but could not find anythig similar.
The only ports I can open is only via Management Access Control in System Maintenance. I was checking open ports via web, and works straight away if I ticked FTP as a form of internet management.
I want to open FTP port 21 to access my NAS (readynas pro 2100) from internet.
I set open ports, port redirection and even filter setup to pass any traffic to NAS for port 21 or even range 20-23, but no joy.
my router:
Model Name : Vigor2820Vn
Firmware Version : 3.3.3_232201
Build Date/Time : Oct 23 2009 15:23:15
ADSL Firmware Version : 232201_A Hardware: Annex A
Thanks for advice in advance.
Martin.

That's probably because ports 21, 22 and 23 are all used by the router for management - if you change the ports for Telnet, SSH and FTP on the management page, then you should be able to forward traffic to those ports
edit: don't change the telnet/ssh ports if you don't have to

Hi,
Only HTTP is ticked as a form for management
If I even tried to open randon port like 5020 - still nothing.
All other functions like filtering, vpn access work perfectly.

I'm using a 2820 for external access to my ftp server and it works fine.
All management servers from the internet unticked and allow management from the internet unticked.
External port 21 TCP redirected to internal sever port 21
Was fine in 3.3.3 now fine in 3.3.4

Hey, Good to know it's working for you.
I did same thing "All management servers from the internet unticked and allow management from the internet unticked"
but no joy again I was hoping maybe there's somehing weird going on with my router, but no ( i mean yes:) ).
Could you send me your setup for FTP? - but once again, I CAN'T open any random port :O
I'm trying do different things for over 3 months.....crazy, but I believe in this forum
Thank you.
