I've configured my 120 with an additional route so I can access the web page from anywhere on the network (it's on it's own VLAN with a gateway on the router), so via telnet

ip route add 192.168.0.0 255.255.0.0 192.168.2.254 0 static

Which works fine, but on reboot it loses the setting. I've tried both adsl savecfg and sys commit commands but neither saves this setting. Is there any way to preserve this over a reboot?

That is not a supported feature, so if it works at all, it's not intentional. It's probably a vestigial bit of code from the Vigor2700e.

Oh that's unfortunate. I know it's supposed to be a black box, but I would like to monitor it properly - my broadband connection is unreliable (at the back end of beyond), so would be nice to just check the sync speed remotely without my other workround (a VM with NIC in the same VLAN!)

Guess I'll have to tolerate the issue :(
