2820 Open Port/Port redirection question. was created by markdep
Hi all,
Im trying to open multiple ports for use with remote desktop software: 80,443,6571,8000.
When using the Open Ports menu, all the required ports (and protocols) are set to open. However when testing the configuration, port 80 remains closed.
When using the Port Redirection menu, If I redirect public port 80 to private port 80 to my Private IP, the port opens correctly.
Does anybody know the reason for this behaviour, why would redirecting the port, rather than opening the port make any difference if the internal and external ports are the same.
Many thanks,
Mark

Could it be anything to do with the management port being on port 80?

That was the first option I tried, and no luck. Its not such a huge deal I suppose, just prefer to know whats going on and why...
