2820 - O2 Contract 3g ZTE MF100 - Config Success was created by sniffy_smiffy
Hi People,
Draytek 2820n router with o2 Contract 3g ZTE MF100 USB Modem
Current Firmware Version: 3.3.4.1_232201
Had a nightmare trying to set this up on my own, but Draytek support came through in the end.
I have a pay monthly (Contract) o2 3g ZTE MF100 USB modem.
I will be using Draytek 2820's to get online via 3g as I work for a company with various sites around london and the South East.
This is very handy to be able to use @ the beginning or end of a job when the ADSL line is not there.
Anyway these are the settings that I had to use:
DONT Plug the Modem in yet ........ Do this first:
WAN > General Setup > WAN2 > Physical Mode = 3G USB Modem
WAN > General Setup > WAN2 > Active Mode = Always On
WAN > Internet Access > WAN2:
PPP: Enabled
APN Name: mobile.o2.co.uk ((dont forget to apply) PAYG is "m-bb.o2.co.uk" ))
Modem Dial String: ATDT*99# (default)
Username: web (PAYG 3g is "o2bb" with same password)
Password: password
Authentication: PAP or CHAP
Apply these settings, reboot if asked.
Then go to command prompt and telnet 192.168.1.1 (or your current routers IP addy) enter your system password. (this is blank by default)
Then enter these two settings below:
wan modem pipe 83 84 03
wan modem force on
IMPORTANT NOTE:
These two commands have to be entered each time the router is powered up as they are not saved to memory as this modem has only just been tested for compatibility & full functionality will be added to the next firmware release.
Now you can plug in your 3g ZTE MF100 modem.
Just keep checking your WAN 2 Online Status and you should go all green.....
Hope this saves someone else from spending to long on this.
Regards
Lee
