How to setup a WAN connection on a Draytek Vigor V3300+? was created by pegrum1
Hi,
I am new to the forums, and have a very simple, and very basic question.
How do i setup the WAN configuration on a Draytek Vigor V3300V?
I have a Thomson BE box providing an internet connection from BEthere.
It is setup with 1 static external public IP address, and DHCP is turned off.
The Draytek's WAN1 port is connected to the BE box's switch.
The Draytek's LAN port is connected to an internal switch.
DHCP works fine on the internal network, but there are no internet connections.
I have tried configuring the WAN port on the Draytek with the static IP information provided from BE, but i didnt work. I'm guessing because the BE box is already connected with the same information.
Ive tried the DHCP option, but obviously this isnt going to work as it is turned off on the BE box so there are not two DHCP servers tring to give out addresses.
Ive tried the PPPoE option, but this did not work as BEthere actually use PPPoA, it also requires a username & password, something that BEthere does not use/require.
PPTP also did not work.
Is there something im missing? as i have tried searching for an answer, and have so far not found any helpful information.

Put the BE Box in to Bridge Mode - there are details on this in the Be Forum.
Then on the Vigors WAN >> Internet Access page >> select Static or Dynamic IP, and complete the:
Specify an IP address
IP Address
Subnet Mask
Gateway IP Address
section with your Be details.
