syslog entry was created by ga22at
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.

I have a vigor 2600

I have enabled syslog on the router and installed the draytek syslog reader onto my pc and I am getting the following message every few seconds

DSL: SNR Margin: 10.5dB, Loop attn.: 30.0dB Uncorr_Blocks = xxxxxxxx

Can someone explain what this means or point me in the direction of some good resources telling me how to read the syslog file.

Thanks
Gareth

Hi Ga22at

Uncorrected block messages are normal in a logfile.

Blocks which are uncorrected are blocks (data) which could not be transmitted/resent.

If you have interleaving (error correction) turned on your DSL line then you will start to see corrected blocks messages.

If these start showing high numberical values in percentage ration to your Tx / Rx then there could be issues on your line or with your internal cabling.

If it is showing as xxxxxx then I am presumming that there have been no blocks that have required correction that have failed to be corrected (re-sent).

Take a look at this thread on Uncorrected Blocks

Hope this helps!
