With BT's infinity, if it's connected to the modem using a PPPoE connection as it normally will be, port forwarding will work great because your router will be the one that gets the public IP.

2820s work perfectly fine in NAT and Non nat mode for me on infinity using PPPoE.

thanks for all of your replies, to confirm I would continue to use the BT router and plug that in to the 2820?
If they had a similar product that wasnt BT and didnt get a free router is the 2920 the next option?
