RX CRC ERRORS was created by dannyboy1121
Hi Folks,

Checking my router stats, I get zero TX CRC errors (from the online status page)

I am getting a fair amount of RX CRC errors though. I rebooted the router at about 10pm last night and it's registering at 4000 already.

Why would I get only RX errors?
Could this be impacting the quality of my VOIP calls? I'm experiencing drop outs at the moment.
Is it natural to get these or is there a problem to fix - if so, where would I start?

Any ideas appreciated

Dan

Could be one of many things. Errors are an unfortunate part of xDSL technology. Do you live a long distance from your exchange? Have a look on the locality tab after entering your details at http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker . Would also think about your ADSL wiring. For a start are you connected to a BT master socket or are you using a telephone extension cable?

Not sure how the router would even detect TX CRC errors as the error should be determined at the far end.
