Vigor 2800V - no go with ADSL2+ was created by ancient_mariner
Hi my exchange was ADSL2+ enabled a couple of months ago, but I have yet to achieve an ADSL2+ connection; even after trying to force one with through the control panel.
I am using firmware E.67.36.1 Annex A which I understand is the optimum one to use. (I am in UK on a BT line and my ISP is Andrews & Arnold). My ISP's control panel shows that I am enabled for ADSL2+.
My line is 1865 metres long to the exchange.
Currently:- Mode is G.DMT SHOWTIME Up Speed 704000 Down Speed 6144000 SNR Margin 11.0 dB Loop Att. 35 dB
Any ideas please?
Cheers!
Clive

your subject line is correct. the 2800 is no good with ADSL2+. the 2800 is quite an elderly product. the way adsl2+ was agreed to work back at design stage isn't quite the way it has been implimented. funtionality limitations of the chips, so no new firmware can improve the situation. sorry!

I have the same problems, but I don't want to ditch the 2800 just yet, so if I put a Vigor 120 modem in front of the Draytek 2800, would that improve my connection and give me ADSL2+ ?
Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, sadly not, because the Vigor 120 is expecting to connect to a WAN socket - and there is only the ADSL Phone Line RJ-11 for the outside world on the 2800.
