Vigor 2820N - DHCP & Class B was created by gtech
Hi,
Hoping someone might be able to offer some advise. We are currently running the Vigor 2820N on the latest firmware, due to the nature of the business we found we were running out of IP addresses, so have configured the router with class B: 255.255.252.0 on the 192.168.1.x as per default.
When setting up the DHCP on the Vigor you need to enter "IP Pool Counts" in the LAN setup. So I need to understand how the DHCP Server on the Vigor is going to cope with the Class B network settings OR is'nt it ??
Unless anyone can come up with a cleaner method......we will need to assign somewhere in the region of around 500 IP's, BUT, dont want to go to the hassle of setting up Windows Server just to deal with the DHCP side of things.
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Same question!
is this even supported?
As a temporary solution I have lowered the DHCP lease time via telnet from 4 days to 10 hours...
