Qnap Setup was created by ryden
Has anyone setup the vigor 2820 for use with a qnap server.
Id love to remotely login to my qnap to manage the device and also kickoff data transfers.
Perhaps you guys know some even better ideas on how to integrate the two?

Set up a vpn service on the box, so you appear to be on the local LAN when your away from home.

i took the easier route of setting up a port forward rule from <external-ip>:8080 to <qnap-ip>:8080 then the qnap can be accesses without additional requirements. I set a very strong admin password. dynamic dns will also simplify connection
