Folks
I'm about to have BT FTTH trial installed which comes with the BT Hub 3.
Couple of questions so any advice gratefully received.
Current setup is a 2820 with BT ADSL WAN1 and Virgin WAN2.
I have a number of port forwards and other config on the 2820 which I dont want to waste time setting up on the BT HH3 (assuming it can do all that) so was planning to connect one ethernet port of the HH3 to WAN2. Assuming I ensure there is no IP conflict between the resulting 'WAN/LAN' sides and I leave WAN2 as a DHCP client will this work?
True that I've lost resilience but I will split my LAN and have some background devices running on Virgin temporarily.
Second question about the best option after the trial assuming I keep it - Should I go for a 2920 with dual ethernet WAN with Virgin WAN1 and BT WAN2 (keeping the HH3 in the setup) or is it expected that the new 2850 will be compatible? My inclination is to have a 2920, which I can treat as 'CPE' should I get into discussions with BT about problems so 'their HH3' is the demark.
TIA
