2820n Load Balancing Data Flow Monitor issue was created by pgudge
Hi all,
I have my 2820n Load Balancing nicely between both WAN1 and WAN2. I wanted to setup so that traffic from one IP on the network uses ONLY WAN2.
WAN -> Load-Balancing Policy -> 1
Protocol Any
WAN WAN2
Src IP Start 192.168.1.7
Src IP End 192.168.1.7
I can see in the router logs when this Load-Balancing Policy is enabled
Load_balance 192.168.1.7 --(FIX)--> x.x.x.x WAN2
Load_balance 192.168.1.7 --(FIX)--> x.x.x.x WAN2
Load_balance 192.168.1.7 --(FIX)--> x.x.x.x WAN2
Load_balance 192.168.1.5 --(BAL)--> x.x.x.x WAN1
However when I view the Data Flow Monitor it shows the traffic on WAN1
WAN1 x.x.x.x Up : 239 / 267 / Auto | Down :5425 / 6340 / Auto
WAN2 x.x.x.x Up : 15 / 5060 / Auto | Down : 462 / 34365 / Auto
I then tried a Firewall filter
Firewall -> Filter Setup -> 2 Default Data Filter -> 2
Source: 192.168.1.7
Dest Any
Service Type Any
Load-Balance Policy WAN2
Now in the logs I get
Firewall log: [FW_Interface][IFNO=WAN2 ][@S:R=2:2, 192.168.1.7:1234->x.x.x.x:1234]
Firewall log: [FW_Interface][IFNO=WAN2 ][@S:R=2:2, 192.168.1.7:1234->x.x.x.x:1234]
Load_balance 192.168.1.7 --(FW_FIX)--> x.x.x.x WAN2
Load_balance 192.168.1.7 --(FW_FIX)--> x.x.x.x WAN2
But the Data Flow Monitor still shows most of the traffic going out over WAN1. Either the logs, or the monitor has to be wrong as they are both reporting the opposite results. I can't think of any other way to debug this as once its pasted the Draytek I have no idea where its really gone.
Any ideas or help?
Thanks, PaulG.
*Update , I just checked by Data Usage on WAN1 ISP and the traffic is going out on WAN1 Could this be a bug?

Replied by pgudge on topic Re: 2820n Load Balancing Data Flow Monitor issue
A few days ago I pulled the pug on the ADSL cable to stop downloads over it (FUP breach) and as expected all traffic went over WAN2. After reconnect the ADSL cable the next day traffic from 192.168.1.7 continued to go out over WAN2! and has done so for the past few days.
I have also rebooted, and firmware upgraded to the latest 3.3.7 and its still working.
Not a solution, but a fix! Hope that helps someone else one day
