Vigor 120 V2 Firmware 321311 or 332201 was created by edlaw
Hello,
I recently purchased a Vigor 120 V2, which came supplied with the STD firmware (321311), however it seems to be everyone recommends the 332201 for UK ADSL2+. Which should I be using?
Also, is there a description available of what these different firmwares available on the Draytek.com FTP change? It seems it would be good to know what each firmware is suitable for, and whether it operates better with different line noise and DSLAM chipsets, etc etc.

For UK ADSL2+ I'd suggest 3471101. Yes I agree it would be good to know, but I've not found a way to find this out. Seems to be a case of ask support on a case by case basis quoting the line stats. Regards, Neal

Why do you recommend this specific firmware? I haven't had a chance to flash to it just yet, but I'm curious.

As there are about 10 different versions of the current firmware for the 120 depending on modem codes, I too was confused as to which was the optimum option. An email enquiry to Draytek in the UK produced this rapid response which may be of some assistance to you:-
"The modem codes are not specifically for any country / ADSL type,
however the different modem codes will behave differently depending on
line conditions. The 332201 modem code is recommended in the UK
because it achieves a higher speed than other modem codes when using
ADSL2+ connections.
"The 321311 modem code is what we would recommend when the UK
recommended modem code causes disconnections or other issues."
