Dear Technical Support,
Can you help please?
Our DrayTek router is running very slow at 1.9 mb
When testing the line with a Speedtouch router sent by our provider to test the line it runs at 12mb
In both cases the router is connected to the ‘engineer’ phone socket.
How do I regain the fast speed with the Vigor 2800VG router?
I have upgraded the firmware today and it is still slow.
Many thanks for your support.
Regards
Paul Cawthorne

Paul, if your line runs at 12mb with the speedtouch, then your service is ADSL2 / ADSL2+ / ADSL2+ Annex M
Unfortunately the VG2800 is quite elderly now, and whilst it works perfectly with ADSL1 services (up to 8mb) no performance improvement can be made for ADSL2 services.
Sorry.
Regards, Neal

We have a 2800 running at 15-24 Mbps, it would not go above 8M on G.DMT (Internet Access >> PPPoE / PPPoA menu) but went much higher when set to ADSL2 / or ADSL2+.
Code:
Model Name : Vigor2800 series
Firmware Version : 2.8.2
Build Date/Time : Tue Jun 3 15:26:55.35 2008
ADSL Firmware Version : E.38.2.23 Annex A
Code:
ADSL Status Mode State Up Speed Down Speed SNR Margin Loop Att.
ADSL2+ SHOWTIME 1144600 15229900 12.0 6.5

Depends on the line, the 2800 used first generation ADSL2+ hardware. It's basically a bit senile and decides it hates certain types of lines
