2850n Static IP on PPPoA was created by davefel
Hello,
I am trying to configure a Draytek 2850n with the two below WANs.
WAN 1 DSL on PPPoA
ISP Fixed IP Range: 0.0.0.33 – 0.0.0.37
Subnet: 255.255.255.248
Network Address: 0.0.0.32
Gateway: 0.0.0.38
WAN 2 Ethernet
Fixed IP: 0.0.0.50
Gateway: 0.0.0.49
Subnet: 255.255.255.252
This also has an eternal IP range but this is not needed at this time.
Firstly, my WAN 1 only gives me the option for Fixed IP so I have currently left this dynamic after reading this is fine (although I'm unsure it is?) and I can enter the settings elsewhere. For WAN 2 all settings are input in MPoA. Both WAN 1 and WAN 2 connect fine.
Here are my current LAN 1 settings:
IP: 0.0.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server Disabled as this is done by internal Server.
Going into Port 1 on the 2850n goes the cable from the main switch and therefore connects the server and the rest of the network. At this point the internet works as it should.
Going into Port 2 I have a Juniper Firewall (also connected to the switch above) with the following settings:
Internal IP Range: 0.0.0.0/24
Internal IP: 0.0.0.180
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
External IP Range: 0.0.0.33 – 0.0.0.37
External IP: 0.0.0.37
External Gateway: 0.0.0.38
External Subnet: 255.255.255.248
This Firewall gives us access to another company network only with these settings. My problem at the moment is how to do this/set up the use of the eternal IP range that BT provide for the DSL.
My research so far suggests the use of IP Routed Subnet and/or VLAN and/or possibly DMZ but I am having no luck. Does what I've written make sense and is anyone able to give me any pointers?
Thanks,
David
