2820 no vpn after firmware upgrade was created by v8disco
I hope someone can help with this.
I have a 2820n connected to Zen FTTC which has been working perfectly up until last week, when
for reasons unknown to me, I decided to upgrade the firmware to the latest level. Since then,
although its been nice and stable and internet speed has increased, I cannot vpn onto the router,
or pick up exchange email on my phone or Ipad.
It looks like this firmware has a default that prevents this access, buit for the life of me I
cannot find it.
I did do some research and tried regrading to various other levels of firmware, none of which
has cured the problem. I should also add that I have use the .all firmware at this stage.
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Please could you confirm which firmware version you are on now - and if it is the 3.3.7.1 version, the build date too - as this "release" happened twice, once in 2011 and once in 2012.
For best results, never use the .all - as unpredicatable results occur. Safest is to always use .rst and rebuild your config from scratch.
Best regards, Neal

Thanks Neal
I am using 3.3.7.1_232201 build date Feb 6 2012 16:29:35
I take your point about using the .rst file and will do that over the next couple of days
Will post back if still a problem
Regards
Martin

Hi Martin, well the good news is that you're on the latest version of 3.3.7.1 - I'm sure the .rst will work out good.

The problem is fixed.
Is appears that, when I installed the lastest firmware, the Open Ports WAN interface defaulted to WAN1
instead of WAN2 as I am on FTTC.
It took a while to find, but reverting to WAN2 cured the problem.
Cheers for your help
