Vigor 2820n Poor speeds through WAN 2 was created by vladimir harkonnen
I've just moved from a 21CN ADSL connection where I could achieve a download speed of around 10Mbps using the 2820n on WAN1 to a fibre service through WAN 2.

Now on my new fibre connection my IP profile is 54.72Mbps and connecting a laptop to the BT Openreach VDSL modem via PPPOE I get a download speed of 49.84Mbps.

When I connect the 2820n to the modem via WAN 2 it connects OK but my download speed is now only 19.78Mbps (uploads seem to be about the same)

The tests were carried out within a 30 minute period. I also have WAN 1 disabled. Can anyone tell me why my download speed is below half when connected through the 2820? If this is a configuration issue can anyone suggest what setting is throttling my download speed?

I'm on FW 3.3.5.2_232201

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

And it this doesn't work I know what will.

You need to start afresh with your setup. e.g. don't backup your config, you manually type it all in again after doing a firmware update. My speeds had exactly the same issue as you. I didn't believe that copying all my settings down on a pad, flashing the firmware to the latest (or to the one I'm using) and then manually typing them all in again would make any difference, but it did!

I thought I'd put my setting up first, just in case that fixes this, as it took me 2 hours to write everything down and then manually put in again. I suppose screen shots would have been better but I'd already started!
