2850 connects via VDSL but no internet was created by lesd
I am trying to connect this to an existing VDSL line abroad. The line works using the router supplied by the ISP.
Using the 2850 it seems to connect - Land and WAN status lines are green and showing Connected. I have tried using the ISP's DNS and Google and OpenDNS but I cannot connect to any web site. NSLookup does not find the DNS server.

I have done one further test - a PING using the IP of google.co.uk and that also failed. So it is not a DNS issue.

Which country are you in? What's the ISP? Perhaps there are some settings to change. Also, the Annex B firmware may produce better results.
