ZTE MF636 MODEM - 2830 CONSTANTLY REBOOTS was created by jawilliamson
Trying to get ZTE MF636 3G USB modem working on V2830. I couldn't get this to connect regardless of access point settings, username/password etc so have upgraded from 3.3.6.1 to 3.3.7.1 firmware. Following upgrade the modem worked first time & connected, but since powering down, the router reboots every 30 seconds while the modem is inserted. If I disconnect it, the router works normally. There is nothing wrong with the modem & it works fine in my PC.
Anyone got any ideas - the model should be supported. Thanks.

Hi,
I have/had exactly the same issue but oddly it started working again after I did the following:
* Went to the Online Status -> Physical Connection Page
* Clicked the image in the top-centre which looks like a phone & router
* chose enable in the next page.
EDIT: It worked for a short while but now it's back to rebooting. The 2830 firmware seems really poor.

Hi
Same issue of constantly rebooting with two USB 3G modems:
Vodafone Huawei K3772-Z
3 Mobile ZTE M627
However, neither modem appears on the official supported list
http://www.draytek.com/.upload/.../4689f598b15ca4158bd1d5944dc96eaa.pdf
So I am hoping that a Huawei K4505 bought on the recommendation of the list does work?
Will let you know.
Thanks
Chris
PS Have you tried the latest firmware v2830_3371db_2471201.zip?
