2830 vlan printing was created by mcacuk
Hi.
I have a 2830 with one SBS 2003 domain running off LAN port 1 on a 192.168.0.1 subnet and another SBS 2003 domain running off LAN 2 on a 192.168.2.1 subnet. Both servers are providing DHCP. Need both domains printing to a large network printer but not able to talk to each other.
Is this possible and if so can anyone help me with the configuration?
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Isn't the whole point of VLANS to prevent subnets communicating with each other ?

Hello,
If you're using the vlan port isolation functionality, then what about establishing a LAN 3 on a 192.168.5.1 subnet with the sole intention of connecting the Large Network Printer?
Then LAN port 1 192.168.0.n SBS 2003 can print by IP to 192.168.5.10 and this printer on the server is shared to the domain users
Plus LAN port 2 192.168.2.n SBS 2003 can print by IP to 192.168.5.10 and this printer on the server is shared to the domain users
Just an idea. Best regards, Neal
