2830 constantly drops ADSL was created by sicon
I have a customer whos new 2830 keeps dropping the ADSL interface. The most it has even stayed up for is 6 mins.
We have tried every ADSL code availabe and they all do the same.
We have also tried fixing the mode the correct type instead of using Multimode and that makes no difference either.
If we plug in the supplied router from Talk Talk:oops: the line is fine.
Could this be a duff device?

filter fine?
could be that tt register the mac address from their router on the network? try and spoof it?
it also depends whether it drops a dsl session altogether or there are authentication issues only, i.e. dsl line connected but ip session is dropped due to the wrong password etc.

The ADSL light stay solid so I would Say Authenticatio issue.
I havent tried to Spoof the MAC, surely TT would mention something when we called them up about having to use their supplied kit?
If the filter was dodgy then wouldnt the other router have issues also

true re filter.
tt would assume that you use their equipment.
anyways, sounds like auth issue so make sure you check the username, password, type of auth (chap or pap) and try spoofing mac address.

ahh... also check that the connection is 'always on' and that the correct mtu is entered. also check the settings, as shown below:

the router was taken home by the guy on site and tested on his own ADSL, same fault so It looks like a dodgy 2830
