2850Vn & 2820VN and Extending Wireless was created by tourcd
I have a 2850Vn connected to the new VSDL service. I'd like to use my old 2820Vn to extend my wireless signal. I thought WDS would do the job and have implemented the instructions found here...
http://www.draytek.com/user/SupportAppnotesDetail.php?ID=117
Unfortunately I hasn't worked. If I connect to the 2820Vn I can't see anything connected locally, so I can't ping the 2850Vn or anything else connected to it.
I've turned on the "hello" packet and checked the WDS connection, it displays as "U" so should be connected.
Can anyone offer any help/suggestions for troubleshooting?

Actually should I not be using repeater mode and then set the "Access Point Function" to disable?
Would this then allow the second Vigor to just repeat (extend) the wireless signal?

I have some experience of using a 2820 and an AP700 in wds mode. I discovered that you have to do a reboot of each box after you have reconfigured them and also that it can take up to 5 mins for the link to get established!
