Interesting - wonder why my 2800VG works fine? Well, I'll keep quiet for now anyway 
Unless someone can categorically confirm the 2710 I'll play it safe and go 2830/50 - might even drop VoIP to save a bit of cash as we could live without it, to be honest.

Just for the record - 2710 with latest firmware does have this feature (demonstrable here - http://www.draytek.com/demo/Vigor2710series/v3.3.7/ )
So just ordered one - cannot justify the extra spend on a 2830/50
