Newbie question re default ip subnet was created by allat39
Hi guys
Newbie type question.
Changing the default subnet questions
1.
Is there any benefit in staying on the 192.168.1.x range?
2.
I may want to use my Vigor 2850vn in a situation where the default subnet 192.168.1.x may not be appropriate because of existing equipment on the 192.168.2.x range.
If I wish to reset the router default to 192.168.2.1 and ALL the 4 wan ports to the 192.168.2.x range is this a good move as I want the router on the same subnet. ??? ...... Or is it better to leave it as 192.168.1.1 and plug a switch into a WAN port in the 192.168.2.x range?
I would particularly welcome some opinion from anyone who he been faced with this issue
Thanks in advance
Pete
