Ok,
We've got a machine that we collect data from on a cloud server. We use vpn to link to the cloud and that way we can use a dynamic ip mobile device for the internet on Wan3. It works well until you can't get a signal.
So, we've setup a link to the machine owners home broadband and setup Wan2 to give us the internet via the clients broadband. Easy I thought. The problem is that although we get internet at the machine, this vpn does not dial up???
I spoke to somebody today and they suggested I set up a static route to allow the vpn to resolve - could he be right?
The details are:-
Vigor router
IP address range 192.168.110.1-254
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Wan2 obtain ip automatically
Wan3 off
Vpns are LAN to LAN to cloud server
Users broadband router
IP address range 192.168.1.1-254
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
DHCP on
Router has the ability to do static routes.
Cloud server
External IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Draytek router IP address 10.0.50.1
Is it that a static route needs setting up and if so, how do you do this?
Many thanks
Dave
