Lost wireless menu following upgrade was created by kimbie
I have just upgraded the firmware of a customers 2830 to Firmware 3.6.3db and this has gone fine.
However they have since mentioned the wireless is no longer working, I have logged onto the router and I can not find the Wireless menu although it was there before the upgrade.
Any suggestions on how I can get the wireless menu back?
Thanks
Kimbie

is the router dual band? If not you have used the wrong firmware to upgrade with and nedd the SB one instead.

When I checked before on the http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb/kb_vigor_2830_dual_band.html page and followed the section Checking the Unit from the Web interface I had the options listed in the screenshot.
So from that I believed I had a dual band version.

Having spoken to the customer appears we did put the wrong firmware onto the router.
Can I change from dual band to single band firmware without a problem?
Thanks

Yes should be fine ... but use the firmware update tool "Firmware Upgrade Utility Tool V.3.6.5 "
http://www.draytek.com/index.php?option=com_jumi&view=application&fileid=17&Itemid=586&lang=en
Then go to their ftp and use the latest firmware 3.6.4
ftp://ftp.draytek.com/Vigor2830/Firmware/v3.6.4%20Single%20band/Annex%20A/
the link i have provide you is for annex A single band
I will recommend to try the following steps (below) and not just load the firmware via the UI of the draytek firmware upgrade web page
SO Follow these steps:
At 2830 do a master reset & then turn it off
Turn Off the firewall at pc will try to load the file
Use wired ehternet cable (not via wifi)
unzip & open the firmware tool
Now type at router IP 192.168.1.1 ...
Load the *RST* file Not *all* of 3.6.4 firmware
Now stand by...
while the 2830n is turned off ... press & hold the reset button ... while with the reset button is keep pressing it (softly) ... turn the power on...
Now 3 leds will flashing
Go to firmware update tool (which is all ready stand by) and send the correct firmware (while the 3 leds at draytek are still flashing)from the link with the single band i have provided you
If you have not understand my post please ask again because if mistake again can cost more issues
Good luck
