Vodafone Sure Signal was created by clever_trevor
Hi,
I have my first 2850VN Router & so far am happy but have an issue with the Vodafone Sure Signal & wonder if anyone can offer and wisdom of help?
The VF Sure Signal router is fully functional; I know this because if I replace the 2850Vn with the BT Hub3 it works fine.
However, when connected to the 2850Vn; it takes about 2 hours before all the green lights appear - and looking at the VF router, it displays as if working correctly (green lights on etc). But, when the mobile phone connects, it shows full bars & traffic indication but loading the browser etc return 'no internet connection'.
I have tried opening 'ports' to no avail.
I have tried another lan port & still same problem.
So, I remain at a loss?
Thanks,
Trevor.

Hi,
Thanks but I've tried these suggestions & still the problem remains.
The sure signal starts will all lights green, calls are routed though it but anything internet fails to connect.
The only thing I'm not sure how to check is setting the router to accept fragmented mtu packets - is there a guide on how to do that. As this is the only thing I have been been able do.
Many thanks,
T

We have the SS as well and it's never worked since PPPoE came along. The DrayTek uses PPPoE whereas the BT Hub uses PPPoA. Vodafone have confirmed the SS does not work over PPPoE - which is their fail since most modems these days are starting to use it. You're best off contacting Vodafone.

Hi,
Many thanks for your help - appreciated.
I thought BT infinity connected over PPoA but guess that's not the case.
Plus, the VSS works fine via the BT home hub but not via the 2850VN
I would hope a firmware would fix this.
Thanks,

Hi,
I received a response from Draytek.....
''''VSS is not supported on 2850''' ~ so maybe this will come in a future firmware...
Cheers,
T
