Hi...
I am just retiring my 2820n. On my VM 100MB I got 95Mb through.
I dont use many of the extra features Qos / Filtering etc.. just lots of NAT but performance has been pretty good tbh..
Free upgrade to 120Mb has made me grab a 2860.... Perhaps when on DSL they are slower?

I guess everyone had a different view.
When my vDSL got upgraded to 80 MB, I started to have random issues with my 2820. The output was fine, (about 65MB download) but from time to time, I had to reboot the router. The main symptom was VoIP call being dropped without notice. Reboot the router, redial and it works fine again for a couple of days...
Before the vDSL upgrade to 80 MB, I never had a VoIP call dropped. And the vDSL lined stayed up for month without having to reboot. Moving to a 2850 addressed that problem. For me vDSL speed that was certainly, if not the issue, at least related.

I had a similar issue with my 2900 to be honest... I tried every firmware version but as more features were enabled on the router [i was playing with VoIP & QoS] stability declined.
I restarted or needed a restart every few days. My 2820 went months at a time...
Just installing my 2860n now - i'm like an excited schoolboy

just for informations
with my 2830 & 2850 & 2920 ... with an ADSL & VM 100 speed i was getting almost all of the 3 units around 85 -91 mb with VM
Once i disable wan 1 (was on by default) i got with all 3 models the full speed 105 mb with VM
Seems when is enable one or the other wan ... is slowing down the CPU
Worth to disable the wan is not in use ... if will make any difference (WAN >> General Setup)
Same must issue must be & with the 2820

Yeah.. totally... the more features enableb, the slower they go... This was very apparent with the 2800's which I installed around 20 of.
I am happy to report that my 2850 goes full steam ahead on my VM 120Mb & that makes me happy
