Panasonic 'Viera Remote' IP Multicast packets was created by mynameishenry
Hi - does anyone have any experience of using the Panasonic app called Viera Remote, the remote control tool for their smart TVs? I have a 2820 VN and have tried unsuccessfully to have the app see the TV across the router's wireless network.
I have the TV connected to the network, I have the phone (Android 4.2) connected to the network and all happily working. Same subnet, fixed mode (TV works on wireless G only) but cannot get any acknowledgement from either device of the other's existence.
I've also briefly tried to use the Apple version on iPad 2 - still no joy.
The one bit of setup advice that Pana can give me that I can't clarify is done correctly is that 'IP multicast packets' must be able to swing unhindered across the network. I have the latest firmware on both devices and latest version of app.
My guess is some LAN passthrough must be enabled but I cannot suss what this might be.
IGMP Proxy has been both enabled and disabled on various attempts - still no joy. DLNA server function is enabled on the TV.

Anyone? Thanks, Henry

have you enabled UPnP Service?
the ipad may not be working because of the mode you have the wireless on.
I would put it on mixed b&g NOT N.

Also on the IGMP did you tick the snooping?
Enable IGMP Snooping, multicast traffic is only forwarded to ports that have members of that group. Disable IGMP snooping, multicast traffic is treated in the same manner as broadcast traffic.

Thanks for replies - I'm fairly sure UPnP is enabled but not IGMP snooping.
Will let you know how I get on...
