Vigor 2860n - Can't connect... was created by bigdaddycainer
Hi.
This is a weird one.
I've just had BT Infinity installed and using the BT modem and a Vigor 2920 I can connect to my ISP no problem. This uses PPOE on WAN1 of the 2920.
However, when I connect up my 2860n, I get VDSL sync of 80mbps, but the router doesn't even attempt to connect to the ISP?
I have done factory resets, retyped the ISP login details loads of times, but no joy.
There is no syslog explorer on the 2860 so I can't see what's going on. I could setup a syslog server - and will do if required, but has anyone else had this problem with a 2860?
My ISP is Claranet over Infinity - as I said, great with the BT kit, no good with 2860.
Any Ideas?
Cheers,

If you're getting sync but no PPP then that's probably the VLAN tag, set the VDSL VLAN tag from the WAN - General Setup - WAN1 page to 101, this will match the BT openreach modem and should start working?

Hi.
Thanks for this! Changed the VLAN tag to 101 and all is now well. Is this similar to the VCI / VPI circuit identifiers used in ADSL connections?
All sorted now though - thanks for your help.
