2860n+ and SNR changes was created by rich_s
Hi all,

recently got my shiny new Vigor - well ok - a couple of months ago and I finally have a chance to tweak and see what I might be able to get out of my connection.

1) have just updated to the STD 3.7.8.3 firmware
2) trying to telnet in to the modem to change the SNR ratio for ADSL connection, but it does not accept my command. Do I need to be using a different firmware? as in the 3.7.8.3 vector firmware? I am trying to drop down from 6db to approx 3db to see if I can still get a stable connection and entered in

adsl snr -50

thanks for any help on this one,

R.

Use the VDSL2 firmware.

great, thank you for confirming although on downloading, I note that there are 2 vector folders. Is it a question of trying vector1 and if this does not work going on to vector2. Also, would you suggest that I use the .rst file (resetting everything to factory defaults) or is it ok to use the .all file, thus avoiding re-imputting all the settings?

Use the .all firmware, personally I've found the vector2 firmware works better out of the two with ADSL & VDSL.
