Closed not Stealth Ports was created by nikstar101
Hi,

Just after some advice, i keep finding that when i do a port scan on my Vigor 2680 i end up with Closed not Stealth-ed ports. And for the life of me i cannot figure out why. I have tried reseting the router to factory defaults (when upgrading the firmware to the latest version 3.7.8.3).

I cannot find why these would be closed not stealth. As i have a bog standard home internet connection and i am not running any servers or the likes. Any ideas on how to diagnose?

Here are the results:
Results from scan of ports: 0-1055

0 Ports Open
8 Ports Closed
1048 Ports Stealth

1056 Ports Tested

NO PORTS were found to be OPEN.

Ports found to be CLOSED were: 53, 111, 135, 137, 138, 139,
445, 515

Other than what is listed above, all ports are STEALTH.

Do you have a DMZ Server defined?

No don't have any DMZ setup. It's literally factory defaults except the ISP settings to get online. When I first got it all the ports were stealthed (I think as that was some time ago now) but something happened a 6 months + when these ports turned to closed instead.

check

NAT -> Open Ports
NAT -> Port Redirection
NAT -> DMZ (Already done)

VPN and Remote Access-> Remote Access Control

SSL VPN -> General Setup

Applications -> UpNp

Turning off SMB under USB Application > USB General Setup should stop about half of those I think?

Hi

Cheers for you suggestions

Right i have been through the following:
SMB is Disabled
Open Ports = None
Port Redirections = None
DMZ = None

VPN and Remote Access is off
Applications UpNp is now off too.

And it has changed the results but there are still some ports staying closed (but we are moving in the right direction!):

Results from scan of ports: 0-1055

0 Ports Open
6 Ports Closed
1050 Ports Stealth

1056 Ports Tested

NO PORTS were found to be OPEN.

Ports found to be CLOSED were: 111, 135, 137, 138, 139, 445
