When setting up Samba file sharing from a USB disk, be aware that the Samba resource name is of the form \\hostname\username or \\router_ip_address\username

Not, as you might think, \\hostname\foldername -which will not work.

Mentioned before, but also be aware the disk cannot be NTFS or Linux formats. It must be FAT32.
