So for the past few days (since Monday it seems) our Vigor 2925n+ has been dropping connectivity to the Internet (and in fact to the router itself I believe)

I have been capturing logs to a USB stick plugged into the router (amazing feature!) and have spotted some odd things happening.

Whenever a drop out seems to happen, the logs go from todays date, Oct 14, to Jan 1, then after 7 seconds, back to Oct 14.

I have put a log file from earlier in my DropBox, https://www.dropbox.com/s/rujccv6uq15aerm/004_2015-10-14_11-34-23.log?dl=0

Can anyone see anything that might be of concern?

Our network is setup as follows:

  • PCs/Macs hardwired to switch via floor ports

  • Switch wired to LAN1 port on Vigor

  • Cheapo WiFi router in bridge mode connected to LAN2

  • 2 VLANs on Vigor (192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0)

  • Bonded line Broadband plugged into WAN1 on Vigor

I power cycled everything, it didn't seem to help.

NB - I contacted my ISP, they said they couldn't see any issues on their end.

I'd imagine that if the time resets that is because the 2925 has rebooted, and 7 seconds later it has reconnected and performed a time sync.

What firmware is running, I found 3.8.1 with wifi enabled to be quite unstable, but the latest 3.8.2 RC4 is much better.

Where did you find the firmware? The download section only has the latest, 3.0.8.1

I'd agree.

UK Support sent me a link.... They were going to say when it had been made into a formal release, but I am guessing that hasn't happened yet, as the official page is still offering up 3.0.8.1. My 2925 was rubbish with 3.0.8.1 and wifi enabled, but since I popped this RC4 firmware on it has been rock solid.

System Up Time 769:8:3 hours
But seemingly my HG612 has dropped its WAN1 connection about 40 hours ago.
