Just throwing this out there, as will be onsite with this again tomorrow, so just incase there are any gem's of wisdom on a Sunday

New 2830n V2 - latest firmware, replacing a BT Hub 3. The BT hub connects and sync's fine, the 2830 won't sync on the adsl, just goes through HANDSHAKING / READY over and over. I have tried it on another adsl circuit and it sync's fine.
We have changed the filter & the cable (but the BT hub connects on the old filter / cable and the new one).

It is just on PPoa 0/38 VCMux Multimode - like every other of the 100's we have installed before....

Have never seen the like before. There don't appear to be alternate modem firmware versions for the v2? - Not that we have ever needed to use one to get a router to sync, just improve stability or minor speed.

That is unusual. If it's still that way, try other modem codes and see if there's
any diagnostic clues in telnet (I can't remember if there's any detailed ADSL negotiation
stuff available there). Not very helpful, admittedly
