P2261 Loop Protection was created by andyhud
Hi Guys

This is a rare scenario and it could be a bug but I don't know for sure

I have a Draytek 3900 and a Draytek P2261 switch

On the 3900 I have 2 LAN ports:

LAN Port 1 Default Config, all traffic
Lan Port 2 - VLAN 172 and all other VLANS are forbidden. One LAN Port 2 I have changed the default MAC address to a unique one (so its different from LAN Port 1 as by default they are all sharing the same MAC address)

Both these ports are patched into Ports 1 + 2 on the P2261 respectively

On the P2261 I have loop protection enabled which states in the documentation that if the switch sees two ports connected with the same MAC address it will shut one down. Hence why I changed the MAC address above on the 3900 for VLAN 172 for Lan_Port_2

However, despite having these 2 ports on the P2261 completely separate (and PVIDS separate) the loop protection is still marking Port 2 down despite the separate MAC addresses.

I'm tempted to disable loop protection and see if the switch falls over but I'm concerned its a bug on the 3900 as its not seeing the unique MAC address on LAN Port 2 on the Draytek 3900

A Long shot, but any ideas?

Cheers

Andy
