2820n Dead? was created by rpt
Hello,

I would like some advice please.
I came home from work today and found that for the first time since its purchase my beloved 2820n had a problem. The status indicator lights were flashing fairly quickly with only the centre light remaining dark. I turned the router off and then unplugged it from the wall and left it for a few moments before powering on again at which point the same pattern of flashing lights appeared immediately. I have tried to force the router into TFTP mode by holding the factory reset button down and turning the router on but the lights just continue to flash in the same pattern.

Is it time to part with my 2820??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section.

It's the ACT light which indicates hardware problems, the centre light is DSL.

Try turning the router on, then holding the factory reset key in for until all the lights go out then cycle.

Hi Adrian,

I have tried that but the lights continue to flash in the same pattern. Could the problem be a failing power supply?

It won't hurt anything to try another power supply, it will at least find or eliminate that as the problem.
