We're using 2830n's with two separate LANs. We have to keep the LANs isolated from each other and this works fine by disabling the inter-lan routing options, but I am still able to ping the gateway of the other LAN - i.e. I can ping 192.168.1.1 from 192.168.2.1 and vice-versa.

I know that's all I can do, so it's secure, but I'd be happier if I could stop the other ports from replying to pings.

Would anyone know if this is possible please?

You cant as far as I know, you can ping any address that the give the router on any given LAN/VLAN interface but you can get past it without the inter vlan routing enabled
