Good Morning!
I have an issue with an AP800 that is confusing; logically it doesn't make sense and I've tried everything I can think of to resolve it.
We have an AP that we want to separate into internal and guest users by creating 2 separate AP's.
The AP has a cable in the Lan A and Lan B ports and each are being assigned different gateways.
Lan A:
IP: 193.1.1.203
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 193.1.1.240
DHCP: disabled (one of our servers handles this)
DNS: 193.1.1.1/193.1.1.2
Lan B:
IP: 193.1.50.203
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP: Enabled
Start: 193.1.50.1
End: 193.1.50.49
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 193.1.50.240
Lease: 86400
DNS: 193.1.1.1/193.1.1.2
The wireless is then set up in the following way:
Enable 2 Subnets is checked to simulate 2 AP's.
SSID1: Main_Wifi
Subnet1: Lan A
Isolate member1: no
SSID2: Guest_Wifi
Subnet2: Lan B
Isolate member1: yes
Channels: Auto
To me, this should separate out the 2 access points and automatically assign addresses depending on which SSID you connect to.
But what is actually happening is that the DHCP is giving out a 193.1.50.xxx address regardless of which one you connect to.
This means that internal users are having problems accessing the secure network.
Can anyone see anything glaringly obvious that's been missed? Feel like this might be a woods for the trees moment; but the answer is evading me!!!
Any help or advice will be greatly received.
Many thanks.
Ben.
