Hi looking for some help please and thanks in advance for any help.

So i have a 2820n which is connected to my Virgin router. The 2820 is the dhcp server with wifi enabled and all working fine.
I want to extend the coverage of my wifi using a 2700vg as i have it sitting around. I have followed guides of similar set up putting the 2700 in to repeater mode but just cant get them to connect.

2700 settings: WDS Mode: Repeater Security: WEP Repeater enabled with the MAC of the 2820n

2820n settings: WDS Mode: disabled wifi set up and working with mobiles etc.

Any help would greatly be appreciated

Thanks

Richard

If you can run cable between the two (lan port on both), then simple disable DHCP on the 2700, and have matching Wifi details on both units (different channels).

Hi Thanks for your input. I dont really want to have to run a cable due to the locations of both being awkward to install a cable so wanted a pure WiFi link.

Try setting them both in WDS bridge mode.

Have you followed the Draytek guide?
