Hi

We have a 2960 that generally performs well, but occasionally (getting more regular) starts dropping traffic on the LAN port.

This generally coincides with high CPU and/or RAM utilisation, not obviously related to load. We applied the latest firmware and this appears not to have made a difference.

We are using fairly basic features - site to site VPN, firewall and NAT (inbound/outbound) for around 180 clients with a 100Mbps WAN link. We have on average 6000 active connections.

The only way to resolve the problem is a restart, which is very disruptive.

It is difficult to find out what process is causing the high utilisation as the output from "status process" does not add up to the utilisation in "status system"

Has anyone had similar issues that they've been able to resolve?

We often see two processes using a lot of CPU time - fpp_tx_enable and uci - does anyone have info on what these processes do?

Thanks in advance.
