config of 2830 and huawei E5180 was created by ready1
We have lousy ADSL speeds and no prospect of FTTC anytime this decade. However we have excellent 4G coverage. I have therefore got hold of EE's 4G router (huawei E5180) and a reasonably priced data plan. Whilst this router doesn't have a USB port so I can connect it to WAN3 it does have a Ethernet port. I figured this could be connected into WAN2 on the 2830 and therefore provide internet access on our wired LAN. I'm really struggling with the setup and no matter what config I use I cannot get it to work.

Any pointers would be appreciated

Many thanks

I don't think that Ethernet port will work into WAN2 on the Draytek. However you should be able to use the WAN2 wireless option to connect to the Huawei on 2.4GHz.

See here http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-wan-wireless

I use a Netgear Aircard in that way, it works fine.

I've not done this but theoretically you should be able to connect the E5180's ethernet port to wan2, you would need the wan2 internet settings set as "Static or Dynamic IP" and the router should think that it's connecting to an ISP wan. You would have to ensure that the lan address on the E5180 does not clash with the 2830 eg, if they both use 192.168.1.0/24 then it would not work.

If they are both on default then I think E5180 uses 192.168.8.0/24 and the 2830 uses 192.168.1.0/24 - 192.168.4.0/24.

Ah my apologies I misread your post and didn't spot that you were using a 2830
