SKy DNS 2860 was created by steveyg_uk
Hi,

I have sky fibre PRO with static IP using VDSL.

SKy keep forcing their DNS servers on me - as shown below. I have entered OpenDNS servers and no matter what I try the SKy DNS servers keep taking over.

LAN Status
IP Address TX Packets RX Packets Router Primary DNS: Router Secondary DNS:
192.168.0.254 11,961 12,553 90.207.238.97 90.207.238.99

We can see from the following below I have entered DNS within the DNS section;-

MPoA / Static or Dynamic IP

DNS Server IP Address
Primary IP Address
208.67.222.222
Secondary IP Address
208.67.220.220

So I set manual static IP and it won't authenticate, even though the settings are 100% correct.

Can anyone help please?

There's a checkbox on LAN >> General Setup
"Force router to use "DNS server IP address" settings specified in..."

Is that any help. There might be some cmd line options too.

I'm just on the normal Sky 38 package, and on my 2925 I simply specific the DNS servers I want to use for machines in:
LAN | General Setup | LAN 1

DNS Server IP Address
Primary IP Address 8.8.8.8
Secondary IP Address 8.8.4.4

ipconfig on this machine shows:

Code:

I suspect this is due to Sky's content filters for parental controls etc. You may need to opt out of it as it is on by default for customers joining from early last year.
